My response to the Glen Beck video that is found below
I don't think that you have Putin's motivation right at all. You glossed over Ukraine becoming part of NATO and/or EU even though Putin said years ago that Ukraine becoming part of NATO is off the table because he would not allow missiles to be on his border just like we would not allow missiles to be in Cuba on our doorstep. Those are not unreasonable demands for either US or Russia. Don't forget how we meddled in Ukrainian affairs when we decided that a regime change in Ukraine was needed. Remember the billion dollars that we spent toward that aim and the taped phone call of Victoria Nuland. ( https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2022/03/flashback-leaked-tape-2014-showed-state-departments-victoria-newland-saying-f-eu-plotting-ukraine-coup-using-bidens-help/) A duly elected president friendly toward Russia was ousted and a president more friendly toward the West and the EU was installed (which prompted the people of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, who are mostly of Russian heritage and who wanted nothing to do with that new sock puppet government, to vote overwhelming, 95%, to ask Russia to annex them).
And what about the MINSK agreements that were brokered between Ukraine and the 2 other separatist regions of Eastern Ukraine that the Ukrainian government has refused to implement .
To simply attribute Putin's motivation as 'expanding the Russian empire' completely ignores important issues that are at the heart of the matter.
Add to that, one thing that Putin is doing that I think is a good thing. He is targeting biolabs in Ukraine, also doing 'gain of function' research, some run by the Pentagon and all of which until recently were acknowledged on US government websites.
And one last thing that is happening is that all of these sanctions are forcing the rise of a parallel economy that has the Chinese yuan as its currency instead of the petrodollar.
