Original Preface. The Catholic Encyclopedia, as its name implies, proposes to give its readers full and authoritative information on the entire cycle of Catholic interests, action and doctrine. What the Church teaches and has taught; what she has done and is still doing for the highest welfare of mankind; her methods, past and present; her struggles, her triumphs, and the achievements of her members, not only for her own immediate benefit, but for the broadening and deepening of all true science, literature and art — all come within the scope of the Catholic Encyclopedia. It differs from the general encyclopedia in omitting facts and information which have no relation to the Church. On the other hand, it is not exclusively a church encyclopedia, nor is it limited to the ecclesiastical sciences and the doings of churchmen. It records all that Catholics have done, not only in behalf of charity and morals, but also for the intellectual and artistic development of mankind. It chronicles what Catholic artists, educators, poets, scientists and men of action have achieved in their several provinces. In this respect it differs from most other Catholic encyclopedias. The Editors are fully aware that there is no specifically Catholic science, that mathematics, physiology and other branches of human knowledge are neither Catholic, Jewish, nor Protestant; but when it is commonly asserted that Catholic principles are an obstacle to scientific research, it seems not only proper but needful to register what and how much Catholics have contributed to every department of knowledge.
No one who is interested in human history, past and present, can ignore the Catholic Church, either as an institution which has been the central figure in the civilized world for nearly two thousand years, decisively affecting its destinies, religious, literary, scientific, social and political, or as an existing power whose influence and activity extend to every part of the globe. In the past century the Church as grown both extensively and intensively among English-speaking peoples. Their living interests demand that they should have the means of informing themselves about this vast institution, which, whether they are Catholics or not, affects their fortunes and their destiny. As for Catholics, their duty as members of the Church impels them to learn more and more fully its principles; while among Protestants the desire for a more intimate and accurate knowledge of things Catholic increases in proportion to the growth of the Church in numbers and in importance. The Catholic clergy are naturally expected to direct inquirers to sources of the needed information; yet they find only too often that the proper answers to the questions proposed are not to be met with in English literature. Even the writings of the best intentioned authors at times disfigured by serious errors on Catholic subjects, which are for the most part due, not to ill-will, but to lack of knowledge. It would be fatuous to hope to call into immediate existence a Catholic English literature adequate to supply this knowledge and correct errors. The Encyclopedia, therefore, is the most convenient means of doing both, enabling, as it does, the foremost Catholic scholars in every part of the world to contribute articles in the condensed form that appeals to the man of action, and with the accuracy that satisfies the scholar.
Designed to present its readers with the full body of Catholic teaching, the Encyclopedia contains not only precise statements of what the Church has defined, but also an impartial record of different views of acknowledged authority on all disputed questions. In all things the object of the Encyclopedia is to give the whole truth without prejudice, national, political or factional. In the determination of the truth the most recent and acknowledged scientific methods are employed, and the results of the latest research in theology, philosophy, history, apologetics, archæology, and other sciences are given careful consideration.
The work is entirely new, and not merely a translation or a compilation from other encyclopedia sources. The Editors have insisted that the articles should contain the latest and most accurate information to be obtained from the standard works on each subject. Contributors have been chosen for their special knowledge and skill in presenting the subject, and they assume the responsibility for what they have written. Representing as they do Catholic scholarship in every part of the world, they give the work an international character.
The Encyclopedia bears the imprimatur of the Most Reverend Archbishop under whose jurisdiction it is published. In constituting the Editors the ecclesiastical censors, he has given them a singular proof of his confidence and of his desire to facilitate the publication of the work which he has promoted most effectively by his influence and kindly co-operation.
The Editors take occasion on the appearance of this first volume to express their gratitude to all who have taken part with them in this enterprise; in particular to the hierarchy for their cordial endorsement; to Catholic publishers and to the editors of the Catholic press for their frequent courtesies; to the contributors for their ready co-operation; to the original subscribers for their generous support; to the directors of the Company organized specially to produce the work, and to many non-Catholics for their kindly encouragement.

kuruantigenic asked: ure awesome! i love those bugs, i made voices for them in my head
Keep in mind that an insect wearing a hat will invariably speak with a voice made harsh and raspy by cheap liquor and petty gambling disputes. Such an arthropod may attempt to justify its position by misquoting key passages from Soul On Ice by Eldridge Cleaver. Be vigilant.

I love questions about “how” to get ideas when everyone should know by now that a live bumblebee enema does the trick every time. Try it!

Vortex Rings

Uploaded by on Aug 16, 2011
A vortex ring, also called a toroidal vortex, is a region of rotating fluid moving through the same or different fluid where the flow pattern takes on a toroidal (doughnut) shape. The movement of the fluid is about the poloidal or circular axis of the doughnut, in a twisting vortex motion. Examples of this phenomenon are a smoke ring or a microburstVortex rings were first mathematically analysed by the German physicist Hermann von Helmholtz, in his paper of 1867 On Integrals of the Hydrodynamical Equations which Express Vortex-motion Smoke rings have probably been observed since antiquity since they can easily be blown from the mouth mr berkelland

Ok, so I have some interesting information to share. I’m not trying to debunk anyone here, just simply offering bits and pieces of information I think help to paint a much broader picture. As many of you know, I do some web mastering for Scott Stevens over at weatherwars.info. After listening to his most recent interview, specifically stuff about Tom Bearden, I decided to look into Tom’s online dealings, specifically his website registration. What I found is a web of websites and addresses all leading back to Bearden, Craddock and Greer of Cseti and disclosure project fame. So I’ll get right to it I guess… You have Tom Bearden’s website,
http://www.cheniere.org/ , named after a lake he grew up near in Louisiana. Turns out cheneire.org is registered to a Craddock Engineering company. chenierre.org: Domain ID:D45365165-LROR Domain Name:CHENIERE.ORG Created On:26-Nov-2000 22:44:56 UTC Last Updated On:23-Oct-2004 09:33:23 UTC Expiration Date:26-Nov-2006 22:44:56 UTC Sponsoring Registrar:Network Solutions LLC (R63-LROR) Status:CLIENT TRANSFER PROHIBITED Registrant ID:3096291-NSI Registrant Name:CRADDOCK ENGINEERING INC. Remember this address, it’s all over the place. Now some of you may be familiar with the name Craddock, it’s also the last name of beardens webmaster, Tony craddock. Tony has been responsible for several UFO reports including the “crash video” viewable at rense.com here http://www.rense.com/ufo3/crash.htm , More interesting articles involving both Greer and Craddock can be read here - this report to MUFON http://www.neptune.net/mufon/wwwboard/messages/62.html and this article about channeling aliens - http://www.jlbellinger.com/features/aliens.htm So, there is also a CraddockEngineering.com, this one located within the US. It’s corporate headquarters just happens to be 151 La Jolla, Santa Barbara CA. Craddockengineering.com whois info Registrant: CRADDOCK ENGINEERING INC. 151 La Jolla Drive SANTA BARBARA, CA 93109 US Domain Name: CRADDOCKENGINEERING.COM Administrative Contact: CRADDOCK ENGINEERING INC. a.craddock@craddock.biz 151 La Jolla Drive SANTA BARBARA, CA 93109 US 805 897 1866 fax: 123 123 1234 Technical Contact: Network Solutions, LLC. customerservice@networksolutions.com 13200 Woodland Park Drive Herndon, VA 20171-3025 US 1-888-642-9675 fax: 571-434-4620 Record expires on 10-Jul-2007. (USA) bills itself as a “Petroleum People” service. It’s get better. Doing a yellow page search for that address also brings up this interesting bit - http://los-angeles-ca.addresses.com/yp_category_results/services/engineers/201/12/los+angeles,ca/1000/1/420.html You can note that the website listed for Craddock Engineering Inc. is in fact www.Cseti.org , also listed at 151 La Jolla, Santa Barbara. Now doing a nearby search you will also come across another oil company, Pacific International Oil Svc, also at 151 La Jolla Dr, Santa Barbara, CA 93109. http://www.google.com/local?q=pacific+oil&hl=xx-elmer&lr=&sa=X&near=Santa+Barbara,+CA&radius=0&latlng=34423333,-119703333,7337720329721848712 So, not only does it seem that there are two international oil service companies running out of this address, you also have Tom personally webmastering for both Bearden (cheneire.org) and Greer (cseti.org) in his off time. Now, if you’re still with me, you might be curious as to just what exactly is at 151 La Jolla, in Santa Barbara, aside from Cheneire.org, Cseti.org, Craddockengineering.com, Pacific Oil, Anthony Craddock and Dr. Greer. Well here it is... http://maps.google.com/maps?q=151+La+Jolla+Driv+Santa+barbara+CA&spn=0.006913,0.008154&t=k&hl=en Nice place huh? re: Greer
http://www.virtuallystrange.net/ufo/updates/1996/dec/m13-003.shtml Dr. Steven Greer, who in recent months flew to England to obtain a clear vivid video tape of a disk pulling aerial manuevers from an English couple and flew back to the US, refusing to show anyone the video, was on the Starfire Radio Program on Cable News Network on Nov 31st. When asked about the video tape, Greer stated that he had even better videos, but was saving them for Project Starlight, and indicated that none of the superlative videos would be released to the public. When asked how an apparently "poor country doctor" could afford to flit around the world and do all these things, Greer several times raised the fact of his friendship with Lawrence Rockefeller. While not a surprising revelation, this public statement ensures that Greer will now be counted among the ranks of those participating in the global coverup of information related to this issue, and adds his name to the long list of New World Order control factions determined to keep the general public ignorant on the important issue of interactions with other species. _______________________________________________ Seems like you stepped right in the middle of an SDI yardsale..When Craddock's not busy running his International Oil consulting business and reporting UFO sightings from his home/company headquarters, he appears to still have had time to personally webmaster for cSeti and Bearden.. www.craddockengineering.com has to be one of the most mickey-mouse looking dummy sites I've ever seen..at least they used classy image stock on it.._________________"If the President has commander-in-chief power to commit torture, he has the power to commit genocide, to sanction slavery, to promote apartheid, to license summary execution."

Very interesting Soulcore, so what do you yourself make of these connections between the shared address, Bearden, Greer, and the oil companies? One thought I had initially (not *necessarily* related to this though) was when Scott Stevens alluded once to Beardens "quote?" about how it was the Yakuzi?/Japanese mafia? that alledgedly steered the four successive hurricanes right into the Florida coast, conveniently I seem to remember somewhere around election time 2000? seriously disrupting the voting(so called) process and possibly skewing the Bush/Gore election outcome. I would have thought that if anyone would have been behind that it would have been rather someone here using HAARP that wanted to HELP Bush take Florida by any means possible.(military/industrials) Why I wonder would Russia or other foreigners want to do that for Bush??? Also are you suggesting POSSIBLY that the oil companies might have an interest in this info being promoted by Greer and maybe even Bearden? What do you think they might gain by making Americans believe that an 'unlimited' amout of 'free' energy might soon become available? False hope? Tying free energy with UFO"S perhaps to make a sceptical public even less believing in 'free energy' as many do not believe in ET's (though UFO's by definiton *unidentified flying objects* of course exist as there are many reports of unidentifiables every day. Just trying to push the peices around to see where they may or may not fit. SmT

Ooops, regarding the Florida hurricanes, I meant rather the 2004 election Bush/Kerry.

You know, honestly i have no clue. My gut tells me that something fishy is afoot though. Why would two international oil companies share the same corporate headquarters (a beachfront house no less) with Tom Bearden and Dr. Greer? I was sucked into the disclosure project a few months back, had to do all that catching up on it, and you know ... nothing ever came of it. Except Greer's SEAS Company, supposedly looking for the next great inventor who comes up with an "over unity" device. I think you’re right on the money about the ufo's and disinformation, get the publics hope up, promise them free abundant energy, tie it to the fringe UFO field, then when it never comes you can blame it on those crazy conspiracy theorists. All i know is i never trusted Bearden to begin with, if you really had an over unity device, you would either be the most famously rich inventor in the world, or the most quiet one because the DOD bought up all the rights. Personally, everything I’ve ever come across about Bearden, Greer, disclosure and SEAS is all $#@#! now in my eyes. I’m hoping maybe others will do some snooping/critical thinking and maybe help figure out just what the hell is going on here._________________In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. Perhaps someone who has been in contact with Bearden could E-mail him and find out how all of these people came to be connected. Might be an interesting story. Smt

Supposedly Scott Stevens is in contact with Tony Cradock, the webmaster for Bearden’s' site, Greer’s Cseti.org and Craddock Engineering, and emailed him sometime on Wednesday I believe, but I have yet to hear if he received a response. Think about it, you have Bearden who has (supposedly) already invented an “over unity” device, Craddock, who has solicited for funding for his own version of an “over unity” device, One oil company (Pacific Oil), and Craddock Engineering )a Petroleum People Company), as well as Dr. Greer and his CSETI and Disclosure projects all going back to this one beachfront house in Santa Barbara. It all stinks to high heaven IMHO._________________In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. So what's the motive? Perhaps the oil companies have felt so guilty about screwing the citizens while recording RECORD profits, that they are now going to fund research into free energy so that the citizens can become more leech-free. Or NOT!!! IT will be interesting to see what response Stevens gets. Anal probes, you say? Yikes!!!! (I assume-no pun- that the proctologist's union hasn't been infilitrated....) Yet..... SmT

That assumption lies on whether that company is even real or not..It's an extremely generic looking website.._________________
