When NASA's Juno spacecraft flew past Earth, it received a boost in speed of mor...e than 8,800 mph which set it on course for a July 4, 2016, rendezvous with Jupiter.
 
Juno’s closest approach was over South Africa at about 561 kilometers (349 miles).
