The History of the Civil Rights struggle in our nation has had many pivotal moments in its timeline.But for me, the Summer of 1963 stands out as one of the most defining and pivotal moments. It was finally beginning to be obvious that the tide was turning in this long struggle and the hard fought battles began to see successes come at a faster rate than ever before. There are those who would disagree but for many of us it was in this summer that we could see that a true change was taking place and it was beginning to show in the consciences, attitudes and hearts of the country. America was discovering her soul.

Finally in August of that same year Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his historic 'I Have A Dream' speech on the steps of the Capital in Washington DC during the historic 'Million Man March'
