GCN AnalysisThe Perfect Storm : Election 2008 Sidebar Timeline from Obama’s Birth to Popular Election As President of the United States of America · Obama’s mother, 18 year old Ann Dunham, married to Obama Sr. February 2, 1961 and traveled to Kenya very pregnant with the infant we know today as Barack, but has also been called Barry. · Dunham, either finding out that her husband had another wife, or not liking the way Muslim men treat their wives, or possibly both, decides to return to her parents in Hawaii. According to Berg, the airlines will not permit her to board a plane as her delivery is imminent. · Dunham gives birth to a son in Mombassa, Kenya, August 4, 1961. · Dunham returns to Hawaii and according to Berg registers the birth August 8, 1961. · A newspaper clip birth announcement is extant from August 13, 1961. · Ann Dunham divorces Obama and later meets and marries Indonesian citizen Lolo Soetoro. · Ann Dunham Obama Soetoro and young Barry move to Jakarta, Indonesia with husband Lolo sometime in 1967. As the nation is undergoing great strife, only citizens may attend state schools. According to Berg, Lolo either adopts or otherwise certifies Barry as his child thus making Obama a “natural Indonesian citizen.” School records show Obama as Barry Soetoro and his religion as Muslim. · Barry Soetoro returns to Hawaii alone to live with his maternal grandparents in 1971. He attends the private Punahou School 5th through 12th grade. According to Berg, Dunham never takes the steps to repatriate Barry as a U.S. citizen. · After graduation from Punahou, Barry Obama goes off to attend Occidental College in Los Angles, California before transferring to Columbia University in New York. He will later attend Harvard Law School. Because Columbia and Harvard will not honor Berg’s Federal subpoenas, it is thought that by Berg and others that Obama may have possibly attended on a foreign scholarship as an Indonesian national. · Obama’s undergraduate work is in political science with a specialization in international relations. · Barry returns home from college on break and announces that he would like to be known hereafter as “Barack.” · Obama traveled to Pakistan in 1981 with Pakistani friends at a time when Pakistan allegedly would not permit entry by U.S. citizens. Obama is alleged by Berg to have entered Pakistan with his Indonesian passport. · After graduation from Columbia, Obama works in New York for four years first for Business International Corporation, persistently reported as a CIA front organization because of its business role of researching international economics and politics. Obama then shifts to the New York Interest Research Group, a non-profit student run political organization not associated with Columbia University. · Obama subsequently relocates to Chicago to be the director for The Developing Communities Project working in the city’s far south side. Additionally, Obama did consulting and instructional work for the Gamaliel Foundation, a community organizing group inspired by and built on the ideas of the famous radical, and self-styled “professional” community organizer, Saul Alinsky. If one just scans the top ten quotes attributed to Saul Alinsky, one sees the entire design of the present Democrat political machine and the reason why someone like McCain is helpless before it. To defeat it one must counter-attack it but in very clever ways that prevent them from assuming a sympathetic “victim” status. They are not above infiltrating your ranks for the sole purpose of having one embarrass you. To them there is no honor. To them, winning is everything, and they will never give up. All of the “community organizers” are patterned after Alinsky. One of their hallmarks is to be paid for their revolutionary services, so be astute to follow the money trail. · Obama attends Harvard Law School where he was also selected as first, black editor, and later, black president of the Harvard Law Review, graduating in 1991. · During his law school summers, Obama worked first for the Chicago law firm of Sidley & Austin and later Hopkins & Sutter. · After graduation, Obama returned to Chicago where The University of Chicago offered him a book writing fellowship as part of his recruitment package to teach constitutional law. · The book, Dreams of My Father was to take one year to write. When either a manuscript didn’t materialize, or a manuscript of sufficient quality was not produced, some believe William Ayres may have ghost written the book for him. · The official line is that Dreams was written over several months in 1995 in Bali where Obama and his wife Michelle retired for just that purpose. · While Obama waited to begin teaching at the University of Chicago, he directed Illinois chapter of Project Vote, an ACORN type organization targeting African Americans founded by Left-Wing lawyer Sandy Newman. · In 1993, Obama joined civil rights law firm Davis, Minor, Barnhill, and Galland. · Obama’s law license became inactive in 2002. According to Berg, Obama’s Illinois BAR application stated that he had never used another name other than Barack Hussein Obama, an outright lie as he, again according to Berg, has gone by the following names: Barack Obama, Barry Soetoro, Barry Obama, Barry Dunham, and Barack Dunham. · Also in 1992, Obama was a founding member of Public Allies board of directors, supposedly resigning before his wife, Michelle, became the founding director for Public Allies Chicago. Public Allies is a taxpayer supported Left wing nonprofit organization with a nebulous “Our mission is to advance new leadership to strengthen communities, nonprofits and civic participation” statement. · From 1994 until 2002 served on the board of directors of the Joyce Foundation, another hard Left “charitable” organization that funds a broad range of programs from educational and training for low income workers to research to reduce gun ownership including the funding of anti-gun groups. · Obama served from 1995 to 2002 on the board of directors, and 1995 to 1999 as founding president and chairman of the board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, an organization co-authored by William Ayers of Weathermen fame- by then associate professor of education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Anne Hallett, executive director of the Cross Cities Project, and Warren Chapman, senior program officer for education at the Joyce Foundation. · Annenberg Challenge has a connection to Newton Minow of Sidley & Austin, one of the firms Obama worked during his summers while in law school. · Obama served on the board of directors from 1993 to 2002 for the Woods Fund of Chicago, a philanthropic organization that was the first to fund the Developing Communities Project, the organization that first brought Obama to Chicago. · 1993 National Voter Registration Act also known as Motor Voter signed into law by President Clinton. As we have seen, the Chicago community of professional radicals had formed an amazingly well interlocked, if not incestuous network of organizations. They served on each other’s boards and saw to it that public and private money was spread around. They also looked to growing new leadership from the grassroots level. - 1995- Obama’s political career was launched in William Ayres home when he was introduced to about a dozen influential people by Alice Palmer, then state senator. Palmer was giving her blessing to Obama to run for her seat.
- When Palmer failed to win the congressional seat (won by Jesse Jackson Jr.) she petitioned to run for her state senate seat again, anyway. Obama was able to challenge Parker’s signatures and those of the other challengers disqualifying all of them, thus he ran unopposed.
- According to Erick Erickson writing in Human Events, June 10, 2008, Obama sought out and won the functionally communist New Party endorsement for his state senate bid. This is significant in that by this time, according to Erickson, the New Party and ACORN were virtually one and the same.
- Obama served in the Illinois senate from 1997 to 2004. While Obama’s legislative record authorship-wise is lackluster, he did sponsor a number of bills one could expect of a community organizer: Efforts to stop racial profiling such as requiring police to keep records of who they stop for traffic violations, controlling payday loan companies, and taping homicide interrogations.
- 2004- Obama runs for the U.S. Senate with Left Wing political strategist and fellow Chicagoan David Axelrod at the helm. His Republican opponent, Jack Ryan withdrew from the race due to a sex scandal involving his actress wife, Jeri Ryan.
- Rather than have Obama win another election unopposed, the Republicans recruit Alan Keyes who attempts to establish residency and launch a campaign with over two months to Election Day. Keyes had told me in an interview that his motive was Obama’s state senate vote against requiring doctors to render medical aid to delivered babies that had somehow survived their abortions.
- Obama wins handily with 70% of the vote serving in the U.S. Senate from 2005 to present.
- Dec 2006 Obama has private meeting with George Soros in New York. In Jan 2007 Obama announces presidential exploratory committee and George Soros backs Obama for President thus withdrawing support from Hillary.
- February 10, 2007 Obama announces his run for president of the United States. Television media powerhouse and fellow Chicagoan Oprah Winfrey signs on to promote his candidacy.
- After Oprah, the Hollywood set at first defect from his chief rival, fellow U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton, in singular numbers. However, over time, the rate picks up until it is a mass exodus leaving Clinton largely isolated.
- Kennedy family throws support to Obama in our estimation to rest control of the party away from the Clintons and the centrist DLC faction.
- Donations pour into Obama via the internet bypassing the Clinton’s party control. Much of it is said to be from small donors. However, it appears an untold but very large amount of cash has come from suspicious and possibly overseas sources in the form of under $200 donations that do not have to be reported. Some of these “small donors” have been see to have given tens of thousands of dollars- far about the legal maximum. Obama reports collections of far beyond $600 million.
- ACORN and some other activist groups have been found to have registered thousands of bogus “voters” making potentially all of their hundreds of thousands of new voter registrations suspect. Voter rolls, particularly in hotly contested states are in an unbelievable state of disorder.
- To make matters worse, the Democrats have protested requiring photo identification at the polls, even though voters are registered at their local Department of Motor Vehicles.
- U.S. District Court rules that Berg does not have “standing” to sue Obama in that effectively a non citizen becoming president in contravention to the U.S. Constitution is "too vague and its effects too attenuated to confer standing on any and all voters.”
- Berg appeals case directly to U.S Supreme Court asking for emergency injunction to stay election. Justice Souter denies injunction but sets Dec. 1st date for defendants to respond by Writ of Certiorari, meaning the case will be reviewed for worthiness of consideration by the entire court. The issue of course is who has standing to challenge the constitutional requirements for office of president of the United States.
- Obama wins the popular vote 53 to 47 percent closely following the pre-election polls. It is unlikely that the high court will hear the Berg case, if at all, prior to the election of Obama by the Electoral College.

The Perfect Storm : Election 2008 Using A Single Master Strategy Designed To Bring About Institutional Dysfunction And Voter Diffidence, Obama’s Success Sprang Forth From A Subversive Form of Marxist Radicalism. Part One of Two (Click Here for Part 2) By Perry Hicks- Special to GulfCoastNews.com 11/08/08 Instead of Paying the Price For Deliberately Compromising America’s Financial Systems, The Democrats Were Successful In Blaming It All On George W. Bush.
Part Two of Two (Click Here for Part I) Republican Party leaders have already begun to rationalize their resounding defeat in this year’s election. With certainty they will lay blame to the McCain campaign’s failure to win over the independent voter. While on this point of independent voters they may be correct, however, on the methodology of redress one may be assured that they will be absolutely incorrect in their conclusions. Wrong headedness has simply become part of their DNA. Furthermore, regardless of what the pundits will opine about Sarah Palin, her campaign performance was nothing short of stellar. She breathed life into a campaign that was up to that point moribund. Without her, McCain’s losses would have been much, much greater. Democrat operatives recognized her potential almost immediately, and after recovering from their brief shock at her selection by McCain, worked very hard to discredit her just as they worked very hard to discredit Cindy McCain. Cindy likewise had posed a massive threat as it would have been very easy, particularly for women, to become her unabashed fan. Cindy McCain’s natural compassion, long list of accomplishments, and lifetime of good works combined with her photo model beauty made for a woman easy for other women to admire. So Cindy had to be destroyed. The problem with McCain’s campaign was that managerial-wise they were outclassed. The campaign failed to set a vision and walled itself off from the very core grass roots it needed for both momentum and money. Added to this, it pursued the approval of a hostile media while eschewing the very media that would have given Cindy McCain and later Sarah Palin favorable reviews. Finally, the campaign was up against forces it must have had no concept of its scope and evil intent because it displayed no apparent desire to articulate the extent of that threat to the American public. Defining Interviews Unfavorable Great is truth, but still greater… is silence about truth. By simply not mentioning certain subjects… totalitarian propagandists have influenced opinion much more effectively than they could have done by the most eloquent denunciations. -Aldous Huxley 1946 Forward to Brave New World When Sarah Palin was chosen as McCain’s running mate, instead of rolling her out through friendly venues first, then following those up next with objective ones, the campaign quite unprofessionally introduced her to America through the known-to-be-hostile mainstream ABC News. When they did that, no matter how badly conducted, ABC, and the subsequent one with CBS News’s Katie Couric, became the defining interviews and everyone would see them as such. Unfortunately, Palin will have to live down the reputation generated by them for the rest of her life. The McCain campaign’s obsession with ABC News was very disconcerting. After Cindy McCain’s experience with Stephanopoulos, a former highly partisan mouth piece for the Clinton Administration they put Palin before good ‘ol Charlie Gibson to be interrogated on the Bush Doctrine. As Charles Krauthammer schools Gibson and the New York Times in his September 13th column, there have been four distinctly different so-called Bush Doctrines. What Gibson actually did was confuse the first doctrine that came into existence before 9-11 with the third doctrine for justifying pre-emptive war least more innocent Americans die on American soil. Hence, when Palin replied to Gibson’s loaded open ended question with a question, asking, “In what respect, Charlie?” this was the Democrat’s opportunity to forever interpret her response as an admission that she was ignorant; never mind that Gibson was utterly clueless himself! All that will ever matter is that Palin did not deftly handle a gotcha question that had multiple loaded answers. Of course, that is the intent of gotcha questions: Put you in a freeze frame of faux embarrassment. To borrow a line from the Democrat’s themselves, the insufficiently nuanced public did not know the difference and bought good ‘ol Charlie’s condescending tone, as he looked down over his eyeglasses and repeatedly asked Palin about the doctrine, as if his hostile questioning alone was an indication that he knew of what he spoke. Allowing this to happen exposed the McCain campaign management as being a gaggle of rank amateurs that were utterly lost to the number one lesson borne home by eight years of the Bush Administration: The net effect of repeated negative political messages- delivered in error, or worse, delivered as lies- culminate in massive political damage. The Obama campaign hammered home several messages built on lies and with the help of the activist mainstream press made them stick. One of the lies helped along first by the Gibson interview and later with Katie Couric’s was that Sarah Palin was not ready to be president of the United States. A second one was Gibson’s effort to prove that the McCain/Palin Administration would be a continuance of the Bush/Cheney Administration vis-à-vis Palin’s apparent inability to articulate any difference in policy. At the same time, the mainstream press mentioned nary a word of Obama’s questionable citizenship, his adult career seeped in the radical Marxist New Left movement, its intentional undermining of the United States of America via the Cloward-Piven Strategy, and its methodology of infiltration and subversion from within. In other words, the public was never made aware that Barack Obama came from the surviving domestic subversive remnant of the Cold War. It remains to be seen how the public will react when the truth finally comes out over the coming months. Long ago any mention of this communist underground has been discredited and its existence pretended to have simply gone away. But as we can see, they were hard at work right before our very eyes, taking taxpayer money to not just keep their networks alive, but increased their influence under the guise of “community organizing.” Lack of Vision Of course, Palin could not possibly have expressed a coherent policy that would differentiate McCain/Palin from Bush/Cheney because McCain had not yet established any coherent message at all until the accidental arrival of “Joe the Plumber.” What was needed was a short list plan that could be clearly and easily articulated as to what the McCain/Palin administration intended to do during its first four years. Using the KISS method (Keep It Simple Stupid), the public would not be able to be sold a bill of goods that McCain/Palin was going to be the Bush administration all over again. The lack of vision negatively impacted the campaign. Given the level of Bush hatred within the Democrat Party- a level so high Democrat vice presidential candidate Joe Biden had even stated an Obama Administration will undertake the unprecedented step of prosecuting members of the previous administration for what some would want to call “Bush Crimes-” it should have been no surprise to the campaign that Gibson would query Palin about Bush Administration policies. However, conservatism does work every time it is tried and if a plan for lower taxes, smaller government, more freedom were to be rolled out it would have been sensational. All that would have to be shown is that the alternative is a form of slavery, which is the literal truth. An example of a good simple ten point plan might be: - National program to provide U.S. energy independence in some realistic time frame. (I realize Obama has done already done this but this is essential to America's well being and helps insure U.S. sovereignty into the future.)
- National program to transform American farming away from petroleum based agriculture. (Improves sustainability and price stability of U.S. food supply.)
- Begin immediate action to begin recalling the vast sea of dollars circulating outside the borders of the United States. (Will stabilize and raise value of dollar.)
- Balance the Federal Budget. (Stabilize and raise value of dollar.)
- Lower the Federal debt. (Stabilize and raise value of dollar; helps insure U.S. Sovereignty.)
- Rebuild America’s industrial base. (Insure U.S. Sovereignty, stabilize and raise value of dollar.)
- Vigorously control the borders. (Improve safety and security of U.S., helps insure sovereignty, stabilize and raise wage levels, lower budget deficits, lower health care costs. Eschewed by McCain- big mistake.) Part of this might be to assist Mexico in crushing narco-corruption and so bring peace and security to that country. Once this is done, then the border might be treated more like Canada’s.
- Fight wars so they will be won quickly. (Reduce costs, save lives, spare political tensions. Part of McCain’s Lexicon.)
- End deficit trade balances. (Press for fair trade so foreign blockades to our products are taken down or barriers here to their products will go up.)
- Rationalize and simplify tax laws. (Unleashes the entrepreneurial spirit that will grow the economy, increase employment, and bring more revenue into the U.S. Treasury.)
Lack of Recognition As of Wednesday morning, the popular vote stood percentage wise at 53% of the vote for Obama vs. 47% for McCain, numbers well within the parameters of the polls. These numbers would at first suggest that ballot box stuffing by such actors as ACORN and like organizations had little impact. However, pollsters cannot be certain as to whom they are addressing and there remains a real concern that this election was no more fairly conducted than in previous years. Indeed, it could well have been worse. The McCain campaign appears to have had no stomach to recognize the impact of illegal immigration and motor voter laws on voting rolls, and public tax payer support for lopsided community organizing efforts such as ACORN and like organizations. Indeed, the McCain campaign did not appear to have any cognizance of the forces it was up against at all. Obama Election Triumph of Subversive Radicalism We will build the New World Order piece by piece right under their noses" (the American people). "The house of the New World Order will have to be built from the bottom up rather than from the top down. An end run around sovereignty, eroding it piece by piece, will accomplish much more than the old-fashioned frontal attack." Richard Gardner, leading American Socialist, Foreign Affairs - The Journal of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), April 1974, quoted from John Coleman's new book Socialism: The Road To Slavery [WIR, 2533 N. Carson St., #J118, Carson City, NV 89706 - 800-942-0821]. McCain’s reach-across-the-isle pronouncements that Obama is a “good man” and that America has “nothing to fear” from him will be proofs to history that not only did McCain have no idea what he was up against, he couldn’t have been more wrong. Even without the speculation that Obama is not a U.S. citizen, the time line of Obama’s professional development as a community organizer is an impressive one. The term “organizer” of course is a euphemism for "revolutionary" whereas the ultimate objective is an incremental but ultimately radical transformation of America into a Marxist state. Using a plan set forth by two Columbia University professors called the Cloward-Piven Strategy; the radical organizing community’s goal is to bring about sufficient chaos and dissention by artificially causing systemic dysfunction in the nation’s institutions. As governmental and even private sector systems become increasingly dysfunctional, the public will become demoralized and frustrated. As situations brought about by continuous crises cripple society, the entire system will come to be viewed as so utterly flawed it will be therefore wholly beyond the possibility of repair. The system, which in our case would be a free market capitalist republic, then undergoes a complete collapse due to the citizen’s total loss of confidence. The remains of the collapsed system is swept away and replaced by an entirely new socialist one created by the very radical organizers who artificially manufactured the various crises that caused the collapse to begin with. When one comes to understand and accept this methodology is at work here, then one may realize the advanced extent to which the Democrat Party has been radicalized and the true nature of the many controversies raised over the last twenty years: Motor Voter, Gay Marriage, Gay Boy Scout Troop Leaders, Separation of Church and State, Hate Crimes, Gerrymandering of Congressional Districts, Hanging Chads, Ballot Box Stuffing, Voting Machine Controversy, Illegal Immigration, Global Warming, 9-11 Accusations and much, much more. All of the aforementioned controversies are designed to foster discontent, frustration, and a lack of confidence in the system. All are designed to throw sand into the smooth running machinery of a well functioning society. All are methods of selling out our constitution so that it may ultimately be either replaced or at least amended sufficiently to become something else. Note Obama’s lamentations about the Constitution being a document of “negative rights.” What the McCain campaign was up against was evil but yet it could not or would not bring itself to recognize it as such and so was not able to mount an effective battle plan. To put it more succinctly, Election 2008 was not a political contest waged in honor between gentlemen. I know that is what John McCain believes, but that is precisely why his campaign was doomed to failure. Consider Obama’s timeline to the presidency (see sidebar.) Phil Berg’s assertions concerning Obama’s foreign birth have been included and so notated since his appeal has reached the Supreme Court for consideration. But even without Berg, Obama’s ascent has been from a subversive radical Marxist base with ample foreign involvement: Unfortunately, none of these associations were revealed to the public either by the mainstream press or the McCain campaign. Accordingly, the public has elected a candidate under false pretenses. The public believes Obama is representative of something politically that is actually anathema to his core values. Obama has mocked McCain for calling him a socialist when in fact he is far more- a Marxist working within the system he is dedicated to destroy; or in his parlance, “remake.” But then again, it would be a shock to most voters, including his own constituents, to learn that U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is not a mere Democrat; by philosophy he is actually a Marxist-economist. Final Component to the Perfect Storm However impressive the effort behind Obama to see him elected, it alone would likely not been enough to propel him into the Oval Office. The Perfect Storm needed one last component: A global financial meltdown. (Click Here for Part 2)

By Perry Hicks- Special to GulfCoastNews.com 11/08/08 To borrow a sports metaphor, given all of the assets and advantages available to Obama- funds exceeding $630 million, support from Hollywood and the media- and as poorly managed and as comparatively under-funded as McCain’s campaign was, Obama’s victory should have had a far wider points spread. A good portion of the public did not buy into the Obama hype or were otherwise steadfast in their conservatism. What pushed Obama over the top was the final element of the perfect electoral storm, the global financial meltdown. This was sold to the public as being kicked off by the failures of quasi private mortgage lenders Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. These failures, of course, were blamed on the “failed economic policies of the last eight years:” i.e. President George W. Bush. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth. Anything to do with the banking/financial/insurance sectors is fiendishly complicated and to simplistically lay blame on Bush could be expected to be false on face value. The present mess is global and is borne of multiple interlocking factors including the inability for western nations to create sufficient wealth to support the welfare states to which they have evolved. The current crop of banking failures had actually begun to be seen in the Germany as early as August 2007 although the seeds for the coming crisis was sown all the way back in 1980 under Democrat President Jimmy Carter with the Depository Institution Deregulation and Monetary Control Act of 1980. Just as the bursting Swiss housing valuation bubble followed with a mortgage banking crisis, the crash in American housing values also resulted in mortgage banking failures. The difference was that the American real estate valuation crisis had global reach. However, in GCN’s view, real estate was not the sole factor bringing down the financial sector; the root cause was the valuation of the dollar. Back in 1980, then Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board, Paul Volcker, was faced with having to support the value of a floating dollar that garnered little confidence on the global market. America was in the aftermath of a humiliating but self-imposed defeat in Vietnam, two Arab oil embargos, and the Iranian hostage crisis that would ultimately extend out 444 days. A U.S. military rescue attempt had ended in fiery failure in the Iranian desert just a few months prior. Investors were storing their wealth not in paper, such as securities, but in metal, such as gold, driving the market price of gold up into the hundreds of dollars. This left businesses starving for capital and so forcing them to raise prices even in the face of falling demand (stagflation.) Volker forced the investors out of the gold market by making paper securities more attractive by restricting the supply of money thus driving up the prime lending rate to as high as 21% at its peak. The result was that not only was the value of the dollar increased, dollars came out of gold and into the stock and real estate markets and interest rates fell. However, before the economy could rebound, the entire country outside of the petroleum industry was in a deep recession with unemployment in the double digits. This high unemployment along with the Iranian hostage crisis literally opened the White House door to the election of Republican Ronald Reagan. As the economy took off under Reagan, workers put money into the still new Carter era 401K retirement accounts and the stock market soared and both businesses and individuals suddenly had access to affordable loans. Coupled with Reagan’s lower tax rates, the Reagan Recovery was on. It wasn’t until 1992 that another recession came on the scene. However, coincident with the arrival of President Bill Clinton was the advent of the World Wide Web and the next economic prime mover, the dot coms. The 1990s fueled much of the artificial prosperity of the go-go ‘90s. It wasn’t until the arrival of President George W. Bush that the dot com bubble burst along with the terror attack of September 11, 2001. Since then, the American economy has been sustained by the War on Terror, a war winding down just as the election of 2008 approached. Current U.S. Prosperity Decline Due to Liberal Policies America’s current struggle for prosperity may be laid at the feet of post modern liberal policies. Because increased regulation, notably labor and environment, America’s centers of industrial production have been largely dismantled and figuratively, if not literally, shipped overseas. This has forced American consumers to buy most of their needs from Asian providers, notably China, who have amassed enormous numbers of U.S. dollars. With little more to purchase with them but oil and America itself, the price of both skyrocketed. This also led to the devaluation of the dollar, a problem that will be exacerbated by the recent financial bailout and follow up legislation. These bills promised nearly 2 trillion dollars that will be provided by the combination of simple U.S. Treasury money creation and a massive level of borrowing from foreign nations, notably China. The fundamental business climate the U.S. financial markets struggled with has been: - Manufacturing has been reduced below 25% of GDP.
- Intellectual Property Creation is increasingly being transferred overseas.
- Dollar valuations have correspondently fallen contributing to inflation
- Companies react to stagnated stock valuations and inflation by taking steps to streamline operations and hold down wages
- Immigrants factor in to the equation as traditionally they earn comparatively less pay
With pressure to continuously increase investor yields in an environment where basically building wealth is not permitted, financial units increasingly turned to internal investment “products” that were based upon repackaging and derivatives. To say the least, this was a recipe for disaster. The upward valuations of investor 401Ks, institutional portfolios, and other accounts were literally based upon nothing. And when the underlying bubble burst, the collapse of these various funds came like the fall of a line of dominos stretching around the world. Further exacerbating the situation was the lack of oversight applied to the core institutions, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Democrat Barney Frank (MA-photo left) served on the House Financial Services Committee while his homosexual lover, Herb Moses, served as a assistant director for product initiatives Fannie Mae, the quasi-Federal mortgage lender that became the “epicenter” of the most recent mortgage financial meltdown. Frank made numerous assurances that Fannie Mae was in good shape when in fact it was not. Furthermore, Fannie Mae was pushed to loan more and more money to minorities on terms that ultimately they could not afford. Barney Frank became chairman of the House Financial Services Committee in 2007. Then there is Democrat Chris Dodd (CT-photo right) who is the 4th most heavily funded senator by the financial services industry, the one he was supposed to help regulate as chairman of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee. Along with Frank, Dodd refused to hear the alarm about Freddie and Fannie when President Bush called for the application of controls on the two in 2003. Indeed, as late as July of this year, Senator Chris Dodd erroneously announced on CNN that it was “inaccurate” to say anything was wrong at Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac at all. But Rep. Maxine Waters (D- CA) could deny anything was wrong with either Freddie or Fannie and in particular praised the leadership of Franklin Raines, then Chairman and CEO of Fannie Mae. Raines as of late served as an advisor to the Obama campaign, a role both Raines and the Obama campaign have denied only after embarrassing revelations of his involvement in the scandal had surfaced. Effect of the Financial Meltdown After the first bailout plan was thwarted by the public’s massive negative reaction, the legislature quickly enacted another far worse one and President Bush rushed to sign it into law. This left a bad taste of lingering resentment in the mouths of a large number of the voting public. As a result, on election day, either not enough voters showed up to support McCain, or not enough center voters were swayed to vote Republican; the public relations offense to blame Republicans for the meltdown may just have stuck. Combined with ballot box stuffing, legitimate get out the vote, the demonizing of Sarah Palin, and the Republican Party/ McCain Campaign failure to expose Obama’s Marxist loyalties, Democrats were successful in convincing the public that the Republicans were at fault for what the Democrats had actually done. All told, it was the perfect political storm.
