The 'Road Not Taken' is a poem written by Robert Frost. It was one of my older brother, Michael's favorite poems.Though physically Michael was masculine through and through, , he also had a very loving, gentle and sensitive soul. When he was 27 , after many years of fighting depression, he killed himself. And life for those of us left behind was changed forever. That was many years ago but the legacy it has left behind in my life has been and will be with me in each and every moment and each and every bbreath of my life until my last breath is taken and the very last moment of my life on this earth. Though many people do not want to hear anything negative because they want everything said to be understanding and compassionate, the truth is that the legacy of suicide is pain and shattered lives. No one is ever better off. There is nothing positive about such a legacy. It is completely and totally negative for anyone effected by suicide. Life is worse than it could or would have been if suicide had not been a part of someone's life in any way. whether it came on the fringes barely noticed or as a huge part of the life experience.
The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
