John McCain is NOT a 'war hero'!

He did nothing that breached loyalty code . He merely thanked his captor for being treated decently unlike in muslim country he would have been dismembered after being tortured for days. not given medical treatment to save his life. In china he would have been tortured like tibetians with brutal beatings, cigarette buts to burn his skin and allowed to get septsis and die slow death. Its what McCain did after joining politics that is 100 times worse.

He did breach loyalty . He did not come home with honor. He violated both Articles 4 and 5.of the Military Code of Conduct. Many consider violating these codes of conduct to be treason but I will come back to that point.  He made  both written confessions and oral recordings that were broadcast on the radio He admitted to being a war criminal He said he bombed civilians, by saying he bombed cities,  towns and villages.  This is the same as saying these were tactics that the US was using .He admitted these things while making a propaganda recording that was broadcast on the radio many times and that other soldiers fighting in the jungle heard . Its purpose was to demoralize the US soldiers.
 As I said, many consider violating these  Military Codes of Conduct to be treason  and  technically it can fall under the definition of treason because  it is aiding and abetting the enemy. And there are soldiers have been prosecuted for these actions. But most people today do not believe that these violations are  legal violations and should not  prosecutable as treason because  you may be and probably are under the severe distress of  torture. However, if you have violated these codes of conduct, though it may be understandable, you do not come home with honor and you are most certainly not considered to be a war hero. But John McCain's  dishonor was intentionally covered up and he spent 50 years  accepting the title of and pretending to be a 'war hero'. He fought hard to keep all POW records sealed,which include his own,  and the VIEtnAM POW and MIA records are still sealed and are not subject to FOIA requests.( much to the sorrow of their families)..
He made many recordings in that time  in interviews with at least the French and Cuban radios. I do not know all of his interviews but I do know of those 2 countries,

Article IV:  If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners.  I will give no information nor take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades.  If I am senior, I will take command.  If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me and will back them up in every way.

Article V:  When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am required to give name, rank, service, number, and date of birth.  I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability.  I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies or harmful to their cause.
