Love this reminder...The world needs reminders as it tends to forget... and forget rather quickly ...especially in the West . In this day and age it seems that we have lost respect for the elderly. In our technological snobbery and arrogance we seem to think they have nothing to offer us and many people see them only as a burden. If we do not even acknowledge, let alone value, the vast collective wisdom of their life experiences, that previous generations were able to benefit from, then we are cutting ourselves off from the lessons of the past. Therefore, I think that in today's world the West tends to have a short memory because if we did not live through it then it is not real to us.
