The Spirit of Vatican II and the Primacy of Conscience
This post is still a work in progress...
The Spirit of Vatican II
and the
Primacy of Conscience
Instead of the hermeneutic of continuity there was an interpretation of discontinuity after 1965 of the Vatican II documents .' This interpretation of discontinuity happens under the guise of 'the spirit of Vatican II' . When I would tell people that Vatican II did NOT say what they were saying that it said. because what they were saying could not be found anywhere in the documents, the reply was always that It is found in the 'spirit of Vatican II'. or it can be deduced from the spirit of Vatican II.
I tried to tell them that it does not talk about a Spirit of Vatican II anywhere. It would say it if there was atually a 'Spirit of VATICAN II THAT WE WERE MEANT TO DEDUCE ANYTHING FROM.
There is no 'Spirit of Vatican II'.. There are only the Documents of Vatican II .And that Spirit that you insist upon and speak so fondly of is is NOT the Spirit that you think it is. It is NOT the Holy Spirit! It IS the Spirit that deceives! That is how I have always thought of it and that is how I was able to reconcile it as I do not have the authority to just throw it out and i do not know who does So I do not know how to delete it from the magisterium of the Church and the protection Christ affords the teachings of the faith. I thought His protection was so that the doctrines (teachings) of the faith could be trusted down through time until his return Isn't this Council supposed to be spoken from the chair of Peter to be believed by the universal Church. I could be wrong but I have to be shown precisely how that understanding is wrong and why.
I was in Junior High when the Documents of Vatican II came outand it was a thick book with small print. There was a lot to read and read slowly if one was beginning to understand it. Most people even nuns and priestsw did not read the whole thing for themselves. Theere were classes taught but none long enough that you read the entire think for yourself . There were seleted priests and Bishops who were supposed to know it and taught us what it said. People would look up certain parts but rarely just read an comprehend the whole thing. Untl I read all of them for myself I thought the 'Spirit of Vatican II' was a real thing that one was supposed to use to determine all the circumstances that could not possibly be covered in one book sort of like a rule of discernment..
Some were certified to teach it and they taught priests and religious who taught other religious who taught the laity and the kids. We learned what came about in Vatican II from others / We did not ever think that what we were learning was wrong. Everyone trusted the ones who taught them and it never occured to us that what we were learning may be wrong/ The errors were spread from the beginning. But we did not know they were errors. It was not malicious but the errors started from the beginning and they were widespread. And I am sure that most who are my age still believe the same way . That is why they think the trads are nuts. It was not wrong to do it the old way but why would you? When Vatican II 'changed' all that and you were no longer required to do all of that,it became the past.
I was quite shocked when I finally read all of the documents for myself. Lots of things we thought were in it were never even mentuioned and some of what it had said we were supposed to do we had never done at all. For instance Latin was never supposed to be removed from the Mass entirelt. Only some parts were supposed to be allowed to be in the language of the people and the rest was supposed to remain in Latin. We never did it that way....
Anyway when I first learned from Benedict the xvi about the hermeneutic of continuity, it made sense to me. It was the 'Spirit of Vatican II' that was the culprit responsible for all the errors. So I am not where y'all are on that yet, though I agree with what you said. But the hermeneutic of continuity interpretation still explains it for me....
I bet there are few who read all of this but it was good for me to try to organize my thoughts and say it because it helped me to understand what I think happened to get us where we are today and why there are so many good people who have gotten it all wrong but think that they are right. They have no idea that they were led astray from the very beginning. And those who led them astray probably have no idea that they had it all wrong and still believe what they taught from the beginning.
It is a deeply entrenched mess!
And Then....add to that mess the concept of the Primacy of Conscience. The Conacience trumps everything even any doctrine. And there was no added safe guards or limiting factors in what we learned as there are in the complete explanation given in Moral Theology. That explanation may sound good, I yjionk iy leaves out important factors which means the premesis that it is based on are more idealistic than realistic. It also makes some faulty assumptions and therefore the conclusion is basically wrong. Conscience does NOT trump Doctine
Nevertheless, when thes 2 basic factors are taken together, it explains how we have so many CTHOLICS THAT DO NOT KNOW THEIR FAITH BUT THEY THINK THAT THEY DO KNOW IT. iT IS WHY SO MANY PEOPLE ACTUALLY BELIEVE THAT THEY can PICK AND CHOOSE WHICH PArts of the faith they believe but they don't believe all of tit and that is perfectly alright. They are still good Catholics in good standing and do not believe there is anything wrong with that at all. This is how CCAFETERIA vATHOLICS are good Catholics (and frankly, aren't those rad trads wierd .? They are stuck in the past, in a church that once existed but it no longer exists.sigh)

The definition that most people learned for Primacy of Conscience is the following becayse that is how it was taught to most of us. But alas, this defintion was not the full explanation wuthout the full exxplanation the true meaning is changed...and changed and therefore not the true definition.

A popular concept that has managed to work its way into modern Catholic moral theology is a concept known as “The Primacy of Conscience.” The Primacy of Conscience is a blanket term for an over-arching concept which basically states that a man's conscience is the ultimate and final authority on what is to be considered morally permissible, and it is the obligation of the individual to follow their conscience even if it contradicts or acts against Church teaching.

People that know about corruption and do not care about it and do not reveal the corruption are themselves corrupt. People that coverup corruption are complicit in the corruption and should not be holding any office as an elected official because they are not looking out for the people who elected them and are not working on their behalf. So who is it that they are working for ? Themselves? A different entity?They are perpetrating a fradulent con on the American people. Since most of these people are career politicians one can only surmise that most of their time in their jobs have not been spent working on behalf of their constituents . Since there are very few who have not been aware of the corruption or become aware of it yet have not revealed it, It begs the question, 'Is the entire legislative process a front for an entirely different operation'. Is Congress full of swamp creatures and rotten to the core? Has Congress itself BECOME A SWAMP CREATURE? tHE ELCTED OFFICIALS IN cONGRESS AND ITS LEADERSHIP in the DNC is most assuredly a corrupt entity? And judging by the unified voice that comes from most of its elected officials all the way down to the local level down to DA and even city officials elected officials down to the local level regardless of the nonsensical or absurdity of the ideas or demands that issue forth from them, it suggests that the entire democratic party itself is a cesspool of corruption and sedition and traitors to this country because it is obvious they are trying to overthrow the very form of government that we have .They are intent on overthrowing this Republic and replacing this form of goverment. There are many Republicans that have also been part of the coverup and are complicit in what they are doing and therefore guilty of the same. The Democratic Party should be disbanded and not allowed to exist as a legitimate political party in this country in its present traitorous and seditious form.
And much of the MSM has been intentionally complicit with these Democrats and their efforts to overthrow our form of government are also guilty of treason and sedition.
They are all criminals and should be removed, indicted and prosecuted. They are criminals and they have been exercising their criminal pursuit in plain sight. We need to rid our country of this criminal scourge. Working toward the goals of removing borders and giving away our national sovereignty to be part of this specific form of globalization that in effect does away with the nation state to make it an entity in name only is a treasonous offense..Period! Anyone convicted of these felony offenses will never have the right to vote in this country again!
That is the truth. It seems that no one wants to say this out loud but this is the bottom line! It has been so out in the open for so long that it seems to have become an acceptable way to be and I will sound like I am crazy or exaggerating. But that does not change what it is It is past time to put a stop to making treason an acceptable offense. It needs to be called out and it needs to end These attitudes and THIS BEHAVIOR IS ANTITHETICAL AND ILLEGAL IN A CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC!
THERE ARE ONLY 2 OPTIONS .
EITHER WE SAVE THIS REPUBLIC OR THE REPUBLIC AND OUR FORM OF GOVERNMENT IS OVERTHROWN BY THE TRAITORS AND SEDITION WITHIN.

Rambling Thoughts on Corruption in Congress and Sedition in the Democratic Party
The 'fundamental transformation' of this country that the Democrats talk about, long for and have been working toward for decades necessarily requires the overthrow of our present form of government, our Constitutional Republic.

Ted Cruz Leaves the entire Democrats in Congress speechless with this fiery speech!
WEll, it did not take youtube long to delete that video and account .. I have fixed this post by finding the same video at a different web address and from a different youtube account
MY COMMENT
MY thoughts were brought on by Ted Cruz's Speech in Congress in the video below but they have been forming and building in my mind for a long time. This is how I see the situation we find ourselves in at this moment in our country.
People that know about corruption and do not care about it and do not reveal the corruption are themselves corrupt People that coverup corruption are complicit in the corruption and should not be holding any office as an elected official because they are not looking out for the people who elected them and are not working on their behalf. So who is it that they are working for ? Themselves? A different entity?They are perpetrating a fradulent con on the American people. Since most of these people are career politicians one can only surmise that most of their time in their jobs have not been spent working on behalf of their constituents . since there are very few who have not been aware of the corruption or become aware of it yet have not revealed it, It begs the question, 'Is the entire legislative process a front for an entirely different operation'. Is Congress full of swamp creatures and rotten to the core? Has Congress itself BECOME A SWAMP CREATURE? tHE ELCTED OFFICIALS IN cONGRESS AND ITS LEADERSHIP in the DNC is most assuredly a corrupt entity? And judging by the unified voice that comes from most of its elected officials all the way down to the local level down to DA and even city officials elected officials down to the local level regardless of the nonsensical or absurdity of the ideas or demands that issue forth from them, it suggests that the entire democratic party itself is a cesspool of corruption and sedition and traitors to this country because it is obvious they are trying to overthrow the very form of government that we have .They are intent on overthrowing this Republic and replacing this form of goverment. There are many Republicans that have also been part of the coverup and are complicit in what they are doing and therefore guilty of the same. The Democratic Party should be disbanded and not allowed to exist as a legitimate political party in this country in its present traitorous and seditious form.
And much of the MSM has been intentionally complicit with these Democrats and their efforts to overthrow our form of government are also guilty of treason and sedition.
They are all criminals and should be removed, indicted and prosecuted. They are criminals and they have been exercising their criminal pursuit in plain sight. We need to rid our country of this criminal scourge. Working toward the goals of removing borders and giving away our national sovereignty to be part of this specific form of globalization that in effect does away with the nation state to make it an entity in name only is a treasonous offense..Period! Anyone convicted of these felony offenses will never have the right to vote in this country again!
That is the truth. It seems that no one wants to say this out loud but this is the bottom line! It has been so out in the open for so long that it seems to have become an acceptable way to be and I will sound like I am crazy or exaggerating. But that does not change what it is It is past time to put a stop to making treason an acceptable offense. It needs to be called out and it needs to end These attitudes and THIS BEHAVIOR IS ANTITHETICAL AND ILLEGAL IN A CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC!
THERE ARE ONLY 2 OPTIONS .
EITHER WE SAVE THIS REPUBLIC OR THE REPUBLIC AND OUR FORM OF GOVERNMENT IS OVERTHROWN BY THE TRAITORS AND SEDITION WITHIN.

In 1971, Saul Alinsky wrote an entertaining classic on grassroots organizing titled Rules for Radicals. Those who prefer cooperative tactics describe the book as out-of-date. Nevertheless, it provides some of the best advice on confrontational tactics. Alinsky begins this way: What follows is for those who want to change the world from what it is to what they believe it should be. The Prince was written by Machiavelli for the Haves on how to hold power. Rules for Radicals is written for the Have-Nots on how to take it away. His "rules" derive from many successful campaigns where he helped poor people fighting power and privilege.
For Alinsky, organizing is the process of highlighting what is wrong and convincing people they can actually do something about it. The two are linked. If people feel they don't have the power to change a bad situation, they stop thinking about it.
According to Alinsky, the organizer, especially a paid organizer from outside, must first overcome suspicion and establish credibility. Next the organizer must begin the task of agitating: rubbing resentments, fanning hostilities, and searching out controversy. This is necessary to get people to participate. An organizer has to attack apathy and disturb the prevailing patterns of complacent community life where people have simply come to accept a bad situation. Alinsky would say, "The first step in community organization is community disorganization."
Through a process combining hope and resentment, the organizer tries to create a "mass army" that brings in as many recruits as possible from local organizations, churches, services groups, labor unions, corner gangs, and individuals.
Alinsky provides a collection of rules to guide the process. But he emphasizes these rules must be translated into real-life tactics that are fluid and responsive to the situation at hand.
Rule 1: Power is not only what you have, but what an opponent thinks you have. If your organization is small, hide your numbers in the dark and raise a din that will make everyone think you have many more people than you do.
Rule 2: Never go outside the experience of your people.
The result is confusion, fear, and retreat.
Rule 3: Whenever possible, go outside the experience of an opponent. Here you want to cause confusion, fear, and retreat.
Rule 4: Make opponents live up to their own book of rules. "You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity."
Rule 5: Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It's hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.
Rule 6: A good tactic is one your people enjoy. "If your people aren't having a ball doing it, there is something very wrong with the tactic."
Rule 7: A tactic that drags on for too long becomes a drag. Commitment may become ritualistic as people turn to other issues.
Rule 8: Keep the pressure on. Use different tactics and actions and use all events of the period for your purpose. "The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition. It is this that will cause the opposition to react to your advantage."
Rule 9: The threat is more terrifying than the thing itself. When Alinsky leaked word that large numbers of poor people were going to tie up the washrooms of O'Hare Airport, Chicago city authorities quickly agreed to act on a longstanding commitment to a ghetto organization. They imagined the mayhem as thousands of passengers poured off airplanes to discover every washroom occupied. Then they imagined the international embarrassment and the damage to the city's reputation.
Rule 10: The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative. Avoid being trapped by an opponent or an interviewer who says, "Okay, what would you do?"
Rule 11: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it. Don't try to attack abstract corporations or bureaucracies. Identify a responsible individual. Ignore attempts to shift or spread the blame.
