My Thoughts on the 2017 NFL Player Protests

Player protests have swept across the teams of the NFL These protests, which have nothing to do with the game of football, are being staged before each game during the playing of the national anthem (which occurs about 5 minutes before the opening kickoff). Protesting players 'take a knee' and/or link arms while the anthem is being played. A few teams have even stayed in the locker room  and do not come out until after the anthem is played.

The rules that I think are pertinent to these current player protests are listed below. I have copied them from the 2017 NFL Rulebook that can be found at

Football games are for entertainment. They are not and have never  been intended to be a forum for political causes  or political activism.
Enforcing the following existing rules is all that is needed to put an end to these controversial protests .

RULE 4. GAME TIMING

ARTICLE 1. KICKOFF ON SCHEDULE
Both teams must be on the field to kick off at the scheduled time for the start of each half. Prior to the start of the game, both teams are required to appear on the field at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled kickoff in order to ensure sufficient time for proper warm-up. Designated members of the officiating crew must notify both head coaches personally of the scheduled time for kickoff prior to the start of each half.

Penalties:

For delaying the start of a half: Loss of 15 yards from the spot of the kickoff as determined by 6-1-2-a.
For failure to appear on the field at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled kickoff of the first half: Loss of the coin-toss option for both halves and overtime, and loss of 15 yards from the spot of the kickoff.

SECTION 4 - EQUIPMENT, UNIFORMS, PLAYER APPEARANCE

ARTICLE 8. PERSONAL MESSAGES
Throughout the period on game-day that a player is visible to the stadium and television audience (including in pregame warm-ups, in the bench area, and during postgame interviews in the locker room or on the field), players are prohibited from wearing, displaying, or otherwise conveying personal messages either in writing or illustration, unless such message has been approved in advance by the League office. Items to celebrate anniversaries or memorable events, or to honor or commemorate individuals, such as helmet decals, and arm bands and jersey patches on players’ uniforms, are prohibited unless approved in advance by the League office. All such items approved by the League office, if any, must relate to team or League events or personages. The League will not grant permission for any club or player to wear, display, or otherwise convey messages, through helmet decals, arm bands, jersey patches, or other items affixed to game uniforms or equipment, which relate to political activities or causes, other non-football events, causes or campaigns, or charitable causes or campaigns. Further, any such approved items must be modest in size, tasteful, non-commercial, and non-controversial; must not be worn for more than one football season; and if approved for use by a specific team, must not be worn by players on other teams in the League.

The reason slavery is the popular justification for the Civil War, is that it's the only way to excuse the gross amount of illegal actions taken by Lincoln for engaging in a war to prevent the Confederacy from having the right to govern themselves. The Civil War was an illegal war, carried out by the North to retain America's biggest cash crops: cotton and tobacco, and to justify it, the North came up with one of the great lies of history.

The list of 17 intelligence agencies being used to propagate the Russian hacking lie

The "17 intelligence agencies" exposed.

For the better part of 8 months we have been hearing from the Clinton campaign, the western mainstream media, Congress et al. about the 17 intelligence agencies that have concluded that Russia interfered, hacked, sabotaged the US elections and America’s democracy.

To be accurate, 16 agencies were “highly confident” Russia hacked the DNC. The one agency capable of investigating the allegations, the NSA, said it was only “moderately confident.”

To be even more accurate, the FBI did not even get access to the DNC servers. It relied upon data provided by private security firm CrowdStrike, who just the other day walked back their audit conclusions on the hacks (via AntiWar)…

The “cyber-security” firm that everyone is depending on to make the case for Russia’s alleged “hacking” of the 2016 presidential election, CrowdStrike, has just retracted a key component of its analysis – but the “mainstream” media continues to chug along, ignoring any facts that contradict their preferred narrative.

As Voice of America – hardly an instrument of Russian propaganda! – reports:

“U.S. cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike has revised and retracted statements it used to buttress claims of Russian hacking during last year’s American presidential election campaign. The shift followed a VOA report that the company misrepresented datapublished by an influential British think tank.”

Most pundits and analysts probably cannot even name 5 of the 17 intelligence agencies that they so proudly say prove Russia hacked US democracy.

Below is a complete list of the 16 intelligence agencies in the US Intelligence Community, headed by the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), whose statutory leadership is exercised through the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), who under the Obama White House was James R. Clapper…making 17 total agencies.

Why the list?

Because we are certain that the Coast Guard Intelligence Agency, Marine Corps Intelligence Agency, and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency are authorities when it comes to US election hacking, and thus should be trusted when they sign off to being “highly confident” of Russian election meddling.

 I do not trust that the plan below, in the excerpt that I have copied from the article in the link, can actually 'chemically transform'  or  rather neutralize the  contaminants by chemically changing them into something  safe for both the environment and organic life.
 If such a plan  would work and could actually be implemented then why is it not used for such liquid waste eliminating  any need for storage or holding tanks  since it would be safe to simply reeintroduce it back into the environment.

Why  hasn't it been used for the liquid waste problem at Fukushima?

My guess would be because this option  does not really exist..

The liquid waste that had been poured onto the ground or held in ponds or trenches has long since evaporated or soaked into the soil on the Site.  In doing so, the waste did contaminate some of the soil and is thought to have also created underground "plumes" of contaminants.   A "plume" is kind of like an underground river where the contaminants join with the water that exists beneath the surface of the Earth.  Many of these plumes move in varying speeds and move toward the Columbia River.  Hanford employees are actively involved in projects designed to prevent any more of the contamination from reaching the river.  Several different strategies are being used in that effort.

One strategy is simply to block the groundwater contamination from getting to the Columbia.  Various kinds of barriers are placed in the ground which allows the clean groundwater to move through, while chemically altering any harmful contamination into a non-toxic form as it passes through.  Another strategy is called "pump and treat".  Through this process, contaminated groundwater is pumped out of the ground and treated with chemicals.  These chemicals serve to change the chemical makeup of the contaminants which render them harmless to the environment.  Once the treatment of the groundwater is complete, the cleansed water is pumped back into the ground.  Yet another strategy in dealing with groundwater contamination is called "biostimulation".  This is a new technology where crews pump materials like molasses and vegetable oil into the ground where tiny microorganisms in the soil eat the molasses and vegetable oil.  The microorganisms then reproduce, and in doing so, they alter the chemistry of the groundwater and render the contaminants harmless to the environment.  The process also prevents the contamination from moving any closer to the river.
